McDonald's to debut $5 value meal in the US

McDonald's (MCD) announced it will offer a $5 value meal in the United States. Yahoo Finance's Brooke DiPalma breaks down the news and the fast food giant's latest play to boost same-store sales.

The $5 value meal is set to roll out on June 25th. It will most likely include a McChicken or a McDouble, a four-piece chicken nugget, small fries, and a small drink.

McDonald's missed expectations in last quarter's earnings and the value meal is designed to get customers back in stores.

Let's talk about mcdonald's and the news about the $5 value.

This is a big, this is very big in the Lipton household because, well, the five year old big Mickey D's fan, what do I get for five bucks?

Right.

Well, here's, here's what we know so far.

So it's set to roll out on June 25th.

We confirm resources there for one month and here's what you can expect from that $5 value meal, a mcchicken or a mcdole alongside with that, you'll get a four piece chicken nugget, a small fry and a small drink.

Now, I, you know, based on sources that I've spoken to is that this happened extremely fast.

Mcdonald's introduced it.

The franchisee operators voted very fast and this just goes to show the position that they're in right now that they want to boost or re boost reignite those same source sales here in the US.

We do know that they missed expectations in this last quarterly results.

Now, another incentive that made this value men you happen was that Coca Cola from what we understand went in on this deal.

We don't know the financial terms of the deal.

But Coca Cola did tell Yahoo Finance that we routinely partner with our customers, our marketing programs to meet customer needs.

This helps us grow our business together.

So from, from what we understand, they also went in on this deal to help make it happen, some marketing funds.

And then really, you know, mcdonald's using this as a, as a promotion to really entice customers get back.

But also we know that it seems like everyone was all hands on deck to really reignite customers coming in and spending yet again at mcdonald's.
