NEW YORK, May 25, 2023--Global Atlantic Financial Group ("Global Atlantic"), a leading insurance company meeting the retirement and life insurance needs of individuals and institutions, today announced it has signed a $19.2 billion reinsurance agreement with MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET). The transaction, signed between subsidiaries of the two companies, will reinsure a seasoned and diversified block of MetLife’s U.S. retail annuity and life insurance business.

KKR & Co Inc-backed Envision Healthcare Corp and its wholly owned subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday. The U.S. provider of physicians has estimated assets and liabilities in the range of $1 billion to $10 billion each, the company said in a court filing. The company said that it entered into a restructuring support agreement for debt obligations of about $7.7 billion under which its unit AMSURG which manages ambulatory surgery centers and Envision Physician Services will be separately owned.
The U.S. provider of physicians has estimated assets and liabilities in the range of $1 billion to $10 billion each, the company said in a court filing. Envision's AMSURG unit will buy surgery centers held by the company for $300 million plus a waiver of intercompany loans held by AMSURG, it said in a statement.

NEW YORK, May 11, 2023--KKR, a leading global investment firm, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement under which investment funds managed by KKR will acquire Industrial Physics (or the "Company"), a leading manufacturer of testing and measurement instruments, from Union Park Capital ("UPC"). KKR plans to support the Company in its continued growth organically and through add-on acquisitions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
KKR & Co Inc-backed Envision Healthcare Corp is planning to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The filing, which could be made as soon as this weekend, would wipe out the investment of KKR in the medical staffing firm, the report said. In 2018, KKR had taken Envision private in a deal valued at $5.57 billion to build up its healthcare portfolio.

The headline numbers for KKR & Co. Inc. (KKR) give insight into how the company performed in the quarter ended March 2023, but it may be worthwhile to compare some of its key metrics to Wall Street estimates and the year-ago actuals.
KKR & Co Inc said on Monday its after-tax distributable earnings fell 26% year-on-year in the first quarter due to a sharp drop in asset sales from its private equity portfolio and lower transaction fees. KKR and other private equity firms cashed out on fewer investments during the quarter as inflation, higher interest rates, geopolitical tensions and financial market volatility weighed on dealmaking. KKR said its profit from asset sales fell 70% to $172.7 million.
