Karthik Sankaran, Director, is a portfolio manager and research analyst within the Global Emerging Markets Equities Team in BlackRock’s Fundamental Equities Group. He co-manages the India strategies and the BGF Asian Growth Leaders fund. He is a member of the India & South East Asia research pod.
Before joining BlackRock in Nov 2021, Karthik was an Analyst & Portfolio Manager at Fidelity International for six years. He was responsible for a pan-regional equity research role in Asia, and was assistant PM of a 130/30 Asian fund. He was most recently lead PM of an Asia absolute return strategy.
Karthik was a member of BlackRock’s Fundamental Equities Team based in London and Singapore between 2010-15. He covered several Middle Eastern, Frontier and Asian equity markets. Karthik was also an equity research analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch between 2006-10 as part of the EMEA financials team.
Karthik earned a BSc in Government & Economics (First Class Honours) from the London School of Economics.
