Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH) and Lime Rock Park announced a new SpeedTour All-Star Race on Thursday that will pair motorsport legends from various racing disciplines with current Trans Am racers in a 60-minute race at the famed Connecticut circuit. Sixteen racing legends have already signed on including Danny Sullivan, Ron Fellows, Greg Biffle, and Geoff Brabham.

The racing icons who will be taking part in the SpeedTour All-Star Race have an incredible combined resume. There are Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500 champions, winners from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nürburgring, and Daytona. The field has a combined 6,000 NASCAR starts, 50 F1 starts, and 47 Indianapolis 500 starts. The all-star drivers are also responsible for three USAC championships, four Rallycross championships, an IndyCar championship, and an IROC championship. These drivers have done it all.

The all-star drivers will be paired with drivers from the current CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. The all-star will qualify the car and start the race. At the halfway mark there will be a five-minute pit stop at which point the TA2 driver will take the wheel. The race offers a winner-takes-all prize of $50,000 for the winning team.

The cars being used are modern TA2 Series racers. All TA2 bodies are either a Ford Mustang, a Chevrolet Camaro, or a Dodge Challenger. Engine power is restricted to a maximum of 530 horsepower. To keep costs in check there are strict price limits set on most major components such as shock absorbers, wheels, brakes, and headers.

“We’re really excited to debut the SpeedTour All-Star Race,” said Tony Parella, CEO of PMH. “The concept draws off the Vintage Race of Champions (VROC) format that we featured pre-COVID, but by using the spec TA2 cars and pairing the legend drivers with our current TA2 drivers, it will take this event to the next level. Lime Rock Park has been a fantastic partner for many years, and the fans in New England have been great supporters of our SpeedTour events, so I am excited to bring this show to them and look forward to seeing everyone in July.”

The festivities begin on July 19 with the all-star drivers taking the track for a 30-minute practice session. Qualifying will run that afternoon. On Saturday, July 20, the race will start at 12:30 pm ET. But before that, fans will have an opportunity to get driver autographs at the autograph session in the morning. If that is not enough racing action for you, there will also be racing from the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA), Canada’s Nissan Sentra Cup, and F1600 Canada.
