Roads in Xinxiang, China, were submerged by flood water as heavy rain continued to fall on Wednesday, July 21.

The extreme flooding in China’s Henan Province has left 33 people dead and forced 376,000 residents to evacuate as of Thursday, according to local reports.

Weibo user u/5985617791, who posted footage of the flooded roads in Xinxiang, said that it had rained for four consecutive days and that the water had reached thigh height.

Severe widespread flooding has occurred across parts of the country since July 17, according to the Chinese government. Credit: Weibo u/5985617791 via Storyful
