A woman and two children have been stabbed in east London. The Metropolitan Police say officers were called to First Avenue, Dagenham, at around 5.35pm to reports of a stabbing. A woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, and two children - a girl believed to be eight years old and a boy believed to be two - were found with stab wounds.

Lawyers for the former independent presidential candidate filed an emergency request for an order requiring Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to remove him from the ballot for the upcoming Nov. 5 presidential election. Kennedy suspended his campaign in August and endorsed Donald Trump.

A video that showed mail-in ballots for former President Donald Trump apparently being destroyed in a suburban Philadelphia county took off quickly on social media Thursday afternoon. “The envelope and materials depicted in this video are clearly not authentic materials belonging to or distributed by the Bucks County Board of Elections,” read a statement released by the board on Thursday. UCLA law professor Richard Hasen wrote on his election law blog that the appeals court ruling was a “bonkers opinion” and noted that “every other court to face these cases has rejected this argument.” The three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday reversed a July decision by U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola Jr., who had dismissed challenges to Mississippi’s election law by the Republican National Committee, the Libertarian Party of Mississippi and others.
