'Strobe Effect': Lightning Illuminates Storm Clouds in Australia's Northwest as Region Heads Into Wet Season

Lightning illuminated storm clouds over Western Australia’s East Kimberley region on October 23.

Geoff Green captured the natural light show in these compiled timelapses, describing the spectacle on YouTube as a “strobe effect”.

“Build up to this [year’s] Monsoon season has started with a supercell drifting across the East Kimberley region,” he wrote. “Beware the strobe effect as this storm just continued to grow.”
