SEANA SMITH: Let's take a look at some of these after-hours trenders. We have three stocks for you today-- Carnival, Advanced Auto Parts, and Taiwan Semiconductors. Let's kick it off with Carnival. You're looking at losses of just about 12% in extended trading. The shares falling on a $1 billion convertible deal announced by the company. They're commencing private offering of convertible senior notes due in 2027. This will be used as part of the company's 2024 refinancing plans.

Now, we know Carnival has been under a tremendous amount of pressure over the last several months. Year-to-date, you're looking at losses of just about 44%. But clearly, since the start of the pandemic, shares have slid over the last three years. Carnival stock is still off just about 75%.

All right, let's move on to Advanced Auto Parts, moving to the downside here on the heels of its earnings release. We're looking at losses of just about 9%. The company cutting its full year EPS guidance. They also missed during the third quarter on earnings. Earnings coming in at $2.84 a share. The estimate was for $3.35. Comp sales also disappointing, at least on a year-over-year basis. They fell about 7/10 of a percent versus a 3.1% gain just a year ago. Over the past two months, stocks still holding onto gains, up nearly 10% in the last three months. So you're looking at losses year-to-date-- you can see that slide there-- off just about 23%.

Rounding it out with Taiwan Semiconductor, you are still right now right about a flat here on the heels of that 10% jump that we saw in the stock today. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway taking a $4.1 billion stake in the company. We certainly saw a rally across a number of the chip names. A number of these players have been beaten down pretty significantly so far this year. Year-to-date, Taiwan Semiconductor still off about 33%. Over the past year, you're looking at losses of pretty much the same amount, just about 31%. But again, today, it jumped to the upside, with shares closing up about 10 and 1/2%, $80.46 a share. Dave.

DAVE BRIGGS: Good stuff, Seana. Thank you.
