Sirens Heard in British Columbia as Nooksack River Breaches its Banks

The City of Abbotsford in British Columbia issued evacuation orders after the Nooksack River in Washington state breached its banks on Sunday, November 28.

Abbotsford Mayor, Henry Braun said he issued further evacuation orders and alerts and extended the local state of emergency for another week, “as we continue to manage the flood situation”.

Multiple flood warnings and advisories were in place across the region, with several rivers overflowing.
