Rehabilitated Bear Cub Found in Southwestern Colorado Released Back to Wild

Video released on May 7 shows a rehabilitated bear cub returning to the wild after four months in the care of Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials in Del Norte.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife shared footage of the bear cub as she leapt from a truck and bounded down a dirt path.

According to officials, she had been found “extremely emaciated,” weighing 13 pounds, and with minor injuries on her paws north of Durango in January. She was transported to Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Facility and “brought back to health.”

At the time of her release, the cub was fully healed of her injuries and weighed approximately 55 pounds, officials said. Credit: Colorado Parks and Wildlife – Durango via Storyful
