How a record number of anti-LGBTQ bills are spreading in the US

So far this year, the American Civil Liberties Union is tracking a record number of anti-LGBTQ bills that target freedom of speech and access to gender-affirming healthcare for the trans community. Anti-LGBTQ advocates claim that minors as young as toddlers are allowed to get gender affirming surgeries, but official recommendations from doctors and LGBTQ advocates recommend surgeries be done after age 18, though there may be rare exceptions.
