Protesters and Police Face Off in Bogota During Anti-Government Demonstrations

Police and protesters faced off in the historic Plaza de Bolivar, in the Colombian capital of Bogota, on May 5, following days of demonstrations which have left at least 19 dead.

Violent scenes have accompanied protests in Colombia against planned post-pandemic tax reforms that began on April 28. The reforms have since been shelved.

The video, recorded on May 5, shows smoke, a loud bang and the crowd dispersing from Plaza de Bolivar. The video also shows anti-government protesters peacefully marching through Bogota on the same day. Credit: Anonymous via Storyful
