Paromita Vohra On Agents Of Ishq And The Need For Safe Spaces For Women And Queer People

India is still a society where words like sex and sexuality are heavily stigmatized. This has led to a culture where people don’t feel free to explore their natural needs and wants. Writer, filmmaker and curator Paromita Vohra has made it her mission to explore these through the lens of her art.

Her brainchild, Agents of Ishq is one of contemporary India’s most well-known platforms that discusses everything from consent to masturbation to mental and sexual health. From personal narratives of intimate life to explainer videos and articles, Agents of Ishq aims to bridge the gap for Indians who have been long deprived of a safe space like this.
