JetBlue makes $3.6 billion offer to acquire Spirit Airlines

BRAD SMITH: Everyone, we're tracking shares of JetBlue here and trading as we're approaching the end of today's trading session. We're monitoring this latest offer. JetBlue Airways has made an offer to acquire Spirit Airlines for roughly $3.6 billion, and this according to "The New York Times." And they have cited people familiar with the matter.

Let's also take a look at shares of both SAVE and JBLU, as you're seeing there on the screen. Of course, Spirit and Frontier were supposed to be merging, and this seems like an alternative offer. And we'll see exactly what comes forward. But taking a look at Spirit Airlines, those shares moving higher by a little more than 20%, it seemed, a moment ago.
