Helmet-Cam Captures Magpie Attacking Aussie Biker

A bicyclist in Australia caught footage of a magpie attacking him while he was pedaling by Lake Burley Griffin in the Canberra suburb of Barton.

According to Sitthixay Ditthavong, who said he recorded this video on September 23, the magpie was a resident of Bowen Park, next to the lake.

“This is why Japan’s Ambassador to Australia calls the #magpie ‘the bird of terror’,” he commented in an Instagram post.

According to an expert quoted by nine.com.au, magpies are a lot more likely to attack cyclists than pedestrians, and they usually attack to protect their territory. Credit: Sitthixay Ditthavong via Storyful
