Cloud of Ash Wafts Over La Palma Amid Continued Volcanic Eruptions

A large cloud of smoke wafted over the Spanish island of La Palma on the afternoon of October 18, as the Cumbre Vieja volcano showed no signs of slowing nearly a month after it began erupting.

As of Monday, at least 1,958 structures were affected by lava flows covering 763 hectares (almost 3 square miles), according to local authorities.
