New Brushfire Triggers Aggressive Response From Fire Crews in Gorman, California

A new blaze, dubbed the Emigrant Fire, had grown to 180 acres and was zero percent contained within an hour of initial reports on Friday, September 17, according to the Angeles National Forest.

A first-alarm brushfire response was ordered as crews “aggressively” battled the fire with tankers and helicopters, fire officials said.

Road closures were in effect and no structures were threatened as of 2:48 pm on Friday, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
