$1.2 Billion Medicare Fraud Scheme Shut Down by Feds
The Department of Justice has charged 24 people in a $1.2 billion scheme to defraud Medicare. According to Matthew Line, an IRS special agent, the scheme exploited the U.S. healthcare system by "targeting Medicare beneficiaries, paying doctors for prescriptions, paying kickbacks and bribes, and in turn selling these prescriptions to DME companies."
