This seems pretty beat up, worth buying under $60?
Just give up trying to determine what a company is worth anymore. You get something like BROS with half JACK's revenue and no earnings with $5 billion market cap, WEN with a little more revenue than JACK iirc, $60 million more in earnings per yr at $188million and a $4billion market cap and then here's JACK at $1.4billion market cap with $120 million in earnings.
Great food and good stock. Watch this stock: CGRA.
Del Taco is good
Does anyone under 65 even know what a "Jack in the Box" is?
It may be time to reposition the brand.
Hopefully they took the opportunity of this dip to buy back shares.
I want to relocate to an area in the US that has JITB. Sadly I'm on the north east coast and the nearest locations are either Cincinnati or North Carolina. Either way, I love there tacos and I hope they never fool with the recipe.
Jacks food is relatively cheap compared to other fast food joints. They can should either raise their prices, or .advertise that they are more reasonable priced. I like their food, and the stock, but feel it doesn't get the respect it deserves from Wall St.; they are too in love with bloated stocks like Chipotle and McDonald's.
A jack-in-the-box is a vehicle lifting tool in a container in the vehicle’s trunk, right?
Accelerated New Unit Development on Track. Over the last two quarters JACK has signed deals with 23 legacy franchisees to open 111 new restaurants over the next 24-months, for the most part in areas where the firm has a presence but is under penetrated. Given that two years ago, JACK’s relationship with its franchisees was damaged, the turnaround is impressive. In that regard, a recent franchisee relationship institute survey indicated that compared to 2020, the satisfaction score of JACK’s franchisees improved by 15.5% to 72%, significantly higher than the industry benchmark. In addition, 92% of franchisees stated that they felt optimistic about the brand’s future. Considering the dynamics, with JACK’s desire to expand the business, and franchisees having a favorable view of the company, it appears almost certain that the company will achieve its 4% net new unit growth objective by YE2025, and handily meet the YE2030 target of 6,000 stores in 40 states
Was the filing really that bad?
Jack in the Box Q4 EPS $1.80 vs. $1.64 a year ago
... $1.75 was estimate and it beat that?
Buying a few shares this am.
Up nicely this morning!
Why is the Del Taco acquisition a positive?
A few weeks back I said Jack would be back to $40 by June, and at the time it was at $23. Man was I wrong, $56xx today! I sold at $42 a few days ago and made a great profit. That being said, jack is up 30% in three days and maybe it gets to $60-65, but I think that’s the top for the short term. One of the things that volatile stocks like this do on a technical basis is close gaps. It’s got a pretty big one from $43.34 to when it opened the day after announcement and low of $47.75. This market is trading a lot on technicals and there is a gap up to $62.14 to fill so that should be max upside from here for a while. Essentially, I will not chase here as it may get to $62.14 gap next week but it’s likely to close that $43.34 gap as well sometime in the next month where I’ll be buying again.
Qdoba, a $jack in the box properties, provides better Mexican food and $jack is trading at a way fairer PE multiple (27x). The manipulators of $CMG have to d1e holding their shares in the tomb as no one would / could buy their bulk shares at this egregiously overpriced level!
This is a good deal for Jack. Buying del Taco adds to earnings immediately. They got. A good price for taco. Imo
anyone have any thoughts on this being the next fast food meme stock like Wendy's?
I sold at 69.00 today. Wonder why someone say sell at 52 and buy at 40. That’s crazy. Jack in the Box isn’t a sit down diner like Denny’s. It’s fast food take out and that is about 90 percent of their customers
level II shows too many people wanting to get out to book profits, try and hold on. Volume is almost as much as yesterday with over 2 hours to go .
