Chipotle’s Stock Split Is First for the Restaurant Chain. It Will Be a Big One.
FEATURE Chipotle Mexican Grill is set for a 50-to-1 stock split on June 26, a first for the fast-casual restaurant chain, and one of the largest in the New York Stock Exchange’s history. The stock split won’t change the value of shareholders’ existing investment: While investors will own 50 times as many shares as they did the day before, the price of each share will drop to one-fiftieth of its value at the close of trading on June 25.
