They paid what??: This $480,000 Toronto home comes pre-gutted

The average price of a Canadian home sold in May was $508,000, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association.

In Toronto, someone found a detached house for less than that. The previous owner even went to the trouble of pre-gutting the inside.

The listing for 119 Regent St. called it a “golden opportunity to build your dream house or renovate.” Realistically, those are your only options. The exterior is in rough shape, but the interior is where things get interesting.

While the walls are stripped to the studs, homey touches like a plush armchair next to a side table covered with a leopard-print cloth provide a contrasting sense of comfort. There’s even a fruit plate on display in the kitchen.

The listing notes parking for two vehicles, but the driveway seems to have gone missing.

The home is on a deep lot, so property may be the bulk of the value here.

The house sold for $480,000, $19,900 below the $499,900 asking price.
