The priciest beaches around the world in 2016

As those hot summer days draw on, many of us dream of sitting oceanside, making the most out of the heat and sunny weather. But if you want to really get to the best beaches in the world, it'll cost you.

TravelBird has released its annual study, the Beach Price Index, which looks at the 250 most popular shoreline destinations, and ranks them according to the cost of a day at the beach. This includes the average cost of sunscreen, a bottle of water, a beer, an ice cream and lunch at each of those locations. Calculations were made using the exchange rate on July 1.

Here are the top 10 most expensive beaches to spend a day around the world -- plus four Canadian beaches that made the top 250.
