The Global City Competitiveness Index constructed by the Economist Intelligence Unit research team compares 120 of the world’s major urban agglomerations across eight distinct categories of competitiveness and 31 individual indicators.
This latest report has been founded based on eight major factors — economic strength, physical capital, financial maturity, institutional effectiveness, social and cultural character, human capital, environment and natural hazards and global appeal.
These cities collectively represent about 29 percent of the global economy, with a combined GDP of $20.2 trillion.
