They paid what?? Run-down Toronto Monopoly house sold for $600K

Toronto has a Baltic Avenue. This Monopoly-like home isn’t on it. But it does look like a classic board game piece fit for the game’s shabbiest neighbourhood.

The listing for 31 Cummings St. does not include a single photo of the home’s interior. What it does show is a giant blue tarp on the roof hiding a repair in progress for more than a year, according to Google Street View.

The property has an enclosed backyard, complete with a fuzzy home for a feline friend. The patio stones look like they could use a good power-washing, and the air conditioning unit could drown out conversation at a summer backyard get-together. But, there are some trees, and room for a garden.

The home sold for $616,000, $17,000 above its $599,000 list price.
