New York City's newest subway station

We know what a subway looks like that's run for more than 100 years, like New York's. And now, sadly, we know what a subway tunnel looks like when it's been flooded. Now we can also see what a brand-new subway tunnel looks like. New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority is extending the No. 7 subway line into the far west side of Manhattan, which is a newly lively area with no transit hub. MTA photographer Patrick Cashin, who has been documenting the construction, posted some images of the progress on Flickr. The new subway stops are set to open in summer 2014.
