How much you should tip around the world

United States
Hospitality: Tip 15-20 per cent of the bill in restaurants based on quality of service. It is customary to tip as low as 10 per cent for bad service, but if it is that bad, you should also ask to speak to a manager.
Taxis: 10-15 per cent of fare, based on service.
Hotel: Tip $2-$3 per night to housekeeping, and tipping is not expected but is appreciated for concierge, particularly if you make a difficult request ($5 or more per request).

Hospitality: 15 per cent of the cost of food/drinks before tax at a restaurant, and 15-20 per cent of the total cost of a bar tab.
