Major cities' multiple perspectives captured in long exposure photographs

In the series "8 Seconds", photographer Nicolas Ruel's images of cities fuse the real with the surreal. The Montreal-born photographer uses an eight-second exposure to point the camera in different directions while the shutter is open. The result is a picture of a city taken from multiple perspectives. So far, Ruel has photographed 50 cities in 30 countries over five years. By Claudine Zap
