For the first time in 10 years, a non-luxury brand tops car quality list

J.D. Power has released its annual study of new-vehicle quality. The study looks at problems experienced by owners during the first 90 days of ownership. According to the study, "For the first time since 2006, non-premium brands have fewer problems than premium brands."

The ranking is based on number of problems reported per 100 vehicles. The lower the score, the higher the quality of car. 21 of the 33 car brands included in the study have improved in 2016, and one has remained the same.

Here's a look at the top 20 car brands on the J.D. Power list.
