Countries that pay the highest income tax

Every tax season, it’s common to hear some moaning and groaning about how much income tax we pay; sure it goes towards all kinds of public services, but sometimes, it would be nice to just have a few more dollars on that paycheque.

The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) recently released a report that can help put that grumbling to rest. Taxing Wages 2017 looks at how much citizens in the 35 OECD countries pay in tax each year. While there are several measures the OECD analyzed, this list features the countries that pay the most in income tax, for a single person, measured as a percentage of the average wage.
