Born to ride - the child jockeys of Indonesia

They ride horses bareback. They cling on for dear life, bravely, as their steeds kick up eddies of dust and gallop hard to win the race. Often, they fall. And have to be carried off on the shoulders of their parents.

These are Indonesia's child jockeys. And the youngest of them is barely seven years old.

At Indonesia's Moyo Festival, on the island of Moyo, these child jockeys are one of the biggest attractions. There are also buffalo riders who risk life and limb to lead their muscle-bound steeds to a mud-splashed victory.
