Motorcycles are on the rebound. Some 540,000 were sold in the U.S. in 2013, proof that people still love to ride. Of late, European brands have carried the technological torch, while the Japanese, particularly Honda, are growing the market with basic new models that are easy on the wallet. One such bike, the Honda CBR300R, is a simple $3,999 machine that gets an estimated 71 mpg. Take that, Prius.
