Wireless services, including cellular, restored in Carcross, Yukon

Wireless services, including cellular service, is now restored in the Carcoss, Yukon area according to Northwestel.

Service had been disrupted for much of the day Wednesday, prompting Yukon RCMP and the territorial government to advise residents to use landlines to contact emergency services if needed.

Telecommunications provider Northwestel tweeted about the disruption at approximately 8 a.m. local time, saying that "techs are working to restore [services] as quickly as possible."

There is no word on what caused the outage.
