What to Watch Thursday: ‘Annie’ is live on NBC and a new Christmas movie on Netflix

Single All the Way (Netflix) - In this new Netflix original movie, Peter (Michael Urie) is desperate to avoid his family’s judgment about his perpetual single status, so he convinces his best friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to join him for the holidays and pretend that they’re now in a relationship. But when Peter’s mother (Kathy Najimy) sets him up on a blind date with her handsome trainer James (Luke Macfarlane), the plan goes awry. This instant classic also stars Jennifer Coolidge as Aunt Sandy.

Annie Live! (8 p.m., NBC) - Don’t miss this live performance of the beloved, seven-time Tony Award-winning musical that tells the story of an extraordinary young orphan who overcomes life’s obstacles with inspirational hope and optimism. It stars Harry Connick Jr. as Daddy Warbucks, Celina Smith as Annie, Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan, Nicole Scherzinger as Grace Farrell, Tituss Burgess as Rooster Hannigan and Sandy as Sandy the dog.

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure (8 p.m., ABC) - When the kingdom of Arendelle empties out for the holiday season, Anna and Elsa realize that they have no family traditions of their own. So Olaf sets out on a merry mission to bring home the very best traditions and save Christmas.

A Christmas Village Romance (8 p.m., Lifetime) - Sparks fly between a romance novelist and a blacksmith as they try to save a charming village during the holidays.

Christmas in Tahoe (8 p.m., Hallmark) - To save her family’s hotel Christmas show, a talent booker must ask for help from her ex-boyfriend — the lead guitarist of a now-famous band that fired her as its manager years ago.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (8:20 p.m., NBC) - Jim Carrey stars as the big green grinch in this live action adaptation that also stars Jeffrey Tambor and Christine Baranski. Narrated by Anthony Hopkins.

The Toy Story That Time Forgot (8:30 p.m., ABC) - While at a post-Christmas play date, the gang finds itself in uncharted territory after some cool new action figures turn out to be delusional, leaving it up to Trixie to save the day.

The Great Christmas Light Fight (9 p.m., ABC) - Four families showcase their extravagant displays to compete for the trophy and the $50,000 prize in the season finale.

The B-tch Who Stole Christmas (9 p.m., VH1) - In this new (and interestingly titled) movie, a workaholic big-city fashion journalist is sent to a Christmas-obsessed town to dig up a story.

Rugrats (Paramount+) - In this special holiday-themed episode titled “Traditions,” Tommy’s first Chanukah falls on Christmas Eve, and the Pickles juggle their family traditions to make sure each feels important, while also celebrating Las Posadas with Betty and her family. The episode aims to explain the various ways that the holidays are celebrated and explore how families from different cultures come together to create their own unique traditions. Special guest starts include Raini Rodriguez, Swoosie Kurtz, Henry Winkler and Tata Vega. This will also air on Nickelodeon on Friday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
