How To Watch The First-Ever 4x400 Mixed-Gender Relay At The Tokyo Olympics

  • The Tokyo Olympics have already had plenty of intense competition.

  • And now, track and field competition has finally started.

  • Here’s what you need to know to catch all the action.

The Tokyo Olympics have already had plenty of intense competition, like the team and all-around gymnastics finals (congrats, Suni Lee!), tons of hours in the pool, and multiple rounds of soccer. And now, track and field competition has finally started.

There’s so much to look out for at the Games, and plenty of big names to cheer on. Six-time Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix is going for gold (again) in the 400-meter relay and, if she grabs a medal at these Olympics, she’ll tie or even pass the legendary track star Carl Lewis for the most medals ever for a track and field star.

Olympic marathoner and new mom Aliphine Tuliamuk is also expected to medal.

JuVaughn Harrison, 22, is competing in the high jump and long jump, which is rare for an athlete. Sprinter Usain Bolt won’t be at the Olympics, but Team USA 100-meter runners Trayvon Bromell and Ronnie Baker are heavy favorites for gold and silver.

This will also be the first year for a 4 x 400 mixed relay, with teams of two men and two women racing for gold.

Basically, there’s a lot happening on the track and field. Here’s what you need to know to catch all the action.

The Games will continue to run through Sunday, August 8th, and most track and field events will air live on NBC or its affiliate networks.
