Wall Street Fundamentals Releases New In-Depth Stock Reports on HPQ, LO, MO and RTN

Low interest rates have increased the appeal of dividend-paying stocks amongst investors in 2014. The iShares Select Dividend ETF (NYSEARCA:DVY - News) is up 2.63 percent year-to-date, compared to a loss of 0.99 percent for the Dow. "We're giving more weight to dividends just because we don't really see the engines of [economic] growth there," said Scott Armiger, chief investment officer of Christiana Trust, a division of WSFS Bank, "A sustainable dividend puts a floor under the price of the stock." 10-year Treasury notes currently offer a yield of approximately 2.73 percent, which is down from 3.0 percent at the beginning of 2014. Here is how some dividend yielding stocks reacted Friday:

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ - News) shares traded in the range of $32.41 to $33.48 Friday before settling to close at $32.64, a decrease of 1.09 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $33.61 with some support at the $31.86 and $30.48 levels. The company currently offers an annual dividend of $0.58 for a yield of roughly 1.78 percent. Shares of Hewlett-Packard have gained approximately 16.0 percent year-to-date.

Lorillard Inc. (NYSE:LO - News) shares traded in the range of $52.84 to $53.75 Friday before settling to close at $53.41, an increase of 2.04 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $55.26 with some support at the $53.00 and $52.03 levels. The company currently offers an annual dividend of $2.46 for a yield of roughly 4.61 percent. Shares of Lorillard have gained approximately 5.0 percent year-to-date.
