Val Kristopher Men’s Spring 2022

After spending the past three and a half years building his online community, more than 107,000 followers on Instagram now, and direct-to-consumer business from Manchester, England, British Filipino designer Val Kristopher feels it’s now about time to present his designs to the fashion community in London, Milan and Paris.

The new collection, which was mostly based on his personal experience navigating the new 9-to-5 routine during the pandemic, features streetwear-inspired and comfortable pieces in earthy colors with distressed and deconstructed details.

The brand is positioned at a contemporary price point. A logo T-shirt comes retails for 145 pounds, while a pair of raw-edged jeans can go up to 579 pounds. All of his pieces come with a unique design: the washing label is placed on the outside of the garment.

Kristopher said being in Manchester, which is often associated with fast-fashion companies like Boohoo and Misguided, actually allows him to do things at his own pace, and freely experiment with new ideas.

Not going down the same path as most London designers has earned him a sizable following in the U.S. and 25 stockists worldwide, including Kith, Farfetch, End Clothing, Boon the Shop, H.Lorenzo and LuisaViaRoma.

Browns will be its first London stockist by the time the collection hits the store in December.
