China's potential imposition of anti-dumping measures on European Union pork imports, a disastrous scenario for the bloc, could benefit Brazil's exporters but also affect the country's ability to compete elsewhere, analysts and industry sources said. Chinese companies have asked for an anti-dumping probe into pork imports from the European Union, state-backed Chinese media have reported. The potential for additional demand from China as a consequence of any anti-dumping measures is welcome for Brazilian exporters.

WARSAW (Reuters) -Poland's biggest energy company Orlen warned gas companies in Hungary, Slovakia and Austria that it could seize their payments for imports from Russia's Gazprom, sources familiar with the matter said. The warnings, in letters sent over a month ago, are linked to claims for losses Poland incurred after being cut off from Russian supplies in 2022, two sources with knowledge of the letters told Reuters. Poland was cut off for not paying in roubles as Western nations imposed sanctions on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.

Chinese-owned chipmaker Nexperia invests $200 million in European expansion
AMSTERDAM/HAMBURG (Reuters) -Nexperia, one of the world's largest makers of basic semiconductors such as diodes and transistors, said on Thursday it would invest $200 million to expand capacity at its main production site in Hamburg, Germany. The investment by Dutch-headquartered Nexperia, owned by Chinese electronics maker WingTech, is a rare example of a computer chip investment made in Europe without assistance from state subsidies under the EU's Chips Act launched in 2023. It also comes as the European Union is considering whether China is unfairly subsidising domestic Chinese production of simple "legacy" chips, found in cars, electric systems, smartphones and industrial applications.

US Senate committee probes oil producers on price collusion with OPEC
The U.S. Senate budget committee on Thursday launched a probe of domestic oil producers about any efforts to illegally coordinate oil prices with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, in the latest effort by Democratic lawmakers to pressure energy companies. The producers the committee is probing include Exxon Mobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and 14 others. Interest among many Democratic lawmakers in possible collusion among oil companies with production groups spiked last month after the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) barred former Pioneer Natural Resources CEO Scott Sheffield from Exxon's board on allegations he attempted to collude with OPEC to raise oil prices.

Tesla held the vote following a January ruling by a Delaware judge to void the compensation because Musk improperly controlled the negotiation process and the company misled shareholders about key details.

The decision reverses a California federal judge's dismissal of a lawsuit by Purushothaman Rajaram, a naturalized U.S. citizen who says Meta passes over American workers for jobs in favor of cheaper visa recipients.
