Two friends promised they’d split a lottery win ‘long ago.’ Then one friend won big

Idaho Lottery

Two close friends made a promise “long ago” that they would split a big lottery prize if either of them ever won.

When Lawrence Wagstaff, from Boise, Idaho, had a winning Powerball ticket, he called his friend Dwight Siddell, the Idaho Lottery said in a Wednesday, Feb. 1, Facebook post.

The two have been friends for decades and shook hands on their promise.

So Wagstaff split his $105,312 prize with his friend. Both were seen grinning in a photo, each holding a massive check with $52,656 made out to each of them.

The two plan to go to Arby’s with their prize. They also want to develop a home on Wagstaff’s family property.

His parents bought the property in 1975 but no one had money to build a home on it until now.
