Tweetdeck shut down by 'security issue'

Tweetdeck has temporarily taken down its services following a "security issue" that caused many Twitter accounts to automatically retweet malicious code across the Twitterverse today.

Tweetdeck, a popular service that allows people to manage multiple Twitter feeds at once, tweeted the announcement around 1 p.m. ET, saying it would update users when services are back up.

About 20 minutes earlier, it had notified users that users were safe if they logged out and logged back in.

It's been a bad day for cyberattacks on cloud services. Note-storing service Evernote and RSS feed reader Feedly were also disrupted today.
