TSX ends higher on energy, banking gains; insurers slip
TORONTO (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index ended higher on Thursday, with gains in banking and energy shares offsetting weakness from a pair of insurers whose earnings failed to impress.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index (.GSPTSE) unofficially closed up 78.35 points, or 0.52 percent, at 15,229.85.
