Trichet: THIS is what scares me about the markets
As global investment markets become more volatile, Jean-Claude Trichet said Friday one of his biggest concerns is that volatility has become the new normal, he said Friday.
"We are experiencing the new behavior of the highly interconnected global system," the former president of the European Central Bank said in a CNBC "Squawk Box" interview.
"Clearly, that is suggesting that we have to leave now with much higher high frequency level of volatility," Trichet added. "I'm afraid that this is now part of the system due to globalization, due to the level of interconnectedness at the global level and due to the interaction of machines."
