Trex Unveils New Waterproof Outdoor Storage Collection - Analyst Blog

Trex Co. Inc. (TREX) has launched a new high-performance, waterproof cabinetry collection for the 2015 outdoor living season. The collection is designed to add beauty and functionality to outdoor living spaces while offering undeniable style and utility.

Nowadays, property holders prefer designed outdoor living spaces featuring outdoor kitchens, bars, spas and pools which call for appropriate storage space. Trex’s new outdoor storage collection will help in maximizing outdoor living space through hidden ice chests, drawers for pillows and pool equipment.

The collection is made of a dense, low-maintenance resin with an adhesive-welded interior of ¾ inch white PVC (Polyvinyl chloride). Every product will be available in all five Trex Transcend premium tropical shades -- Havana Gold, Island Mist, Spiced Rum, Lava Rock and Tiki Torch.

Notably, Trex outdoor storage solutions include Pull-out ice coolers that feature two inch thick insulated walls to hold ice for a long time. The collection also offers storage solutions for pool toys, sports equipment, pillows and more through base cabinets and bench drawers. Moreover, it includes Hampers for storing clean towels and extra swim suits. Further, the skirting insert cabinets will extend storage area, while the trash storage cabinets easily hide waste.

The collection, that fits Trex’s high-performance products offering longevity, come with additional options for roll-out drawers and shelving and can be further customized with marble, granite or stone tops.

The collection will be manufactured and sold by Florida-based NatureKast Products through a trademark licensing agreement with Trex. The entire collection is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

In line with its strategy, Trex has expanded its distribution channels by entering the eCommerce marketplace with the launch of outdoor lighting collection on Amazon.com in Sep 2014. These eCommerce opportunities will drive incremental sales in all of Trex’s channels.

Trex will also benefit from the ongoing economic recovery. Additionally, the company’s consistent focus on industry-leading distribution presence, best-in-class product platform, low-cost manufacturing and brand will drive growth. In addition to the outdoor lighting collection, introduction of more products online will help boost Trex’s revenues.

Winchester, VA-based Trex manufactures and distributes wood/plastic composite products and related accessories, primarily for residential and commercial decking as well as railing applications in the United States.

Currently, Trex carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Some better-ranked stocks in the same sector include Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), Masco Corp. (MAS) and Owens Corning (OC). All these stocks carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
