TotalEnergies CEO says proposed UK taxes to impact investment in country

Energy Asia conference in Kuala Lumpur

PARIS (Reuters) - TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanne said on Wednesday he was closely monitoring Britain's Oct. 30 budget, and that potential taxes on oil and gas profits would be likely to have a serious impact on the company's investments in the country.

Speaking to investors in New York, Pouyanne said such proposals would make the company "very selective" on any capex expansion in future.
