Today’s Research Reports on Stocks to Watch: Facebook and Snap

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / June 18, 2018 / Facebook had a couple of developments announced recently. The company is building a data center in Alabama and has also announced it will be allowing users of its platform to file complaints about businesses they bought something from by clicking on the ad of the business. Snap shares closed up modestly after announcing last week a partnership with Pandora and other companies as it launched its Snap Kit developer platform.

Facebook, Inc. shares closed down a modest 0.49% on about 21.8 million shares traded. The stock came just 21 cents of hitting its record high during intra-day trading. The world's largest social media site has announced a new policy that allows users to file a complaint about businesses that they have had a problem with if they purchased something after clicking on the business' running ads. This is Facebook's new way of being able to stop "bad shopping experiences" which can make Facebook users disgruntled with the platform. In other news the company also announced that it will be building a $750 million, 970,000 square foot, data center in Huntsville, Alabama. The company is expecting to break ground on the facility later this year. According to Facebook, Huntsville is "a growing tech hub."

Snap Inc. shares closed up a little above 1% on Friday with around 27 million shares traded. It was last week that the company announced a partnership with Pandora. Pandora had stated in its press release, "Soon Pandora listeners will be able to send their favorite songs to friends and family through unique song cards that celebrate album art on top of an animated background, and receivers will be able to swipe up to listen directly on Pandora." It also stated, "This integration will expand Pandora's social sharing capabilities by reaching Snapchat's massive audience while enhancing music discovery across both platforms." As part of Snap's Snap Kit developer platform, the feature will be available for U.S. users soon. Other participants in Snap's Snap Kit developer platform are Tinder, Poshmark, Postmates, Bands in Town, Eventbrite, Giphy, Patreon, Quandoo, Quip, ScoreStream and SoundHound. "Snap Kit was designed to share minimal data — safely, and only with Snapchatters' explicit permission," Snap said in a blog post when announcing the kit.
