Think Pink: A Louisiana Landmark Is This Week’s Most Popular Home

We’ve seen just about everything in our weekly look at the most-clicked homes on realtor.com®. From “barndominiums” to a home covered in empty beer cans to a residence carved out of a cave, we’re used to seeing the weird and wonderful side of real estate.
But we’ve never seen a house quite like this week’s first-place finisher. Located in Monroe, LA, it’s a house plopped atop a nine-story building. It looks like a single-family home kinda-sorta grafted onto a sky-rise. According to the listing agent, anyone who’s ever cruised Interstate 20 through Louisiana knows this place.
While it’s a distinctive landmark for travelers, it used to stick out even more. Called the “Pink House,” it was previously painted pink and sat atop a brown building. Well, the house is no longer painted a shade of blush, but it is for sale. If you’re up for acquiring a Louisiana landmark, the ninth-floor residence can be yours for only $1.1 million.
