The discounts at Trump hotels, by the numbers

As part of an examination of the value of Trump-branded properties, Yahoo Finance tallied the average nightly rate at Trump hotels and compared that to rates offered at competing, nearby properties with the same star rating on Hotels.com. We researched prices for two different time periods: Aug 18 - 21of this year (Thursday through Sunday), and Sept. 18 - 21 (Sunday through Wednesday).

Trump hotels, on average, were slightly less expensive than competing properties. The aggregate findings are below, followed by a list of the comparison sets we used for each of seven U.S. cities, for both sets of dates. Also included are comparisons for Toronto.
