This Tex-Mex takeout spot in City West Commons has closed its storefront. What’s next?

Puffy taco fans, take a deep breath. Tu One Oh Tacos, the Tex-Mex takeout spot in the City West Commons Shopping Center, has closed.

Owners Rachel Alvarez and Erica Lemon told CharlotteFive they had struggled with the location. “It’s been an emotional journey for us,” Lemon said.

But there’s still some hope for eating a San Antonio-style puffy taco in the future. The West Boulevard restaurant you might remember as the misunderstood taco joint between two vegan restaurants said in its closing notice on Instagram that it hopes to find a new location “within the next few months.” And an earlier post said we can look forward to taco pop-ups and online ordering after it moves to a virtual kitchen.

“We appreciate everyone’s support and we will continue to update everyone in regards to our new location,” the restaurant owners commented online.
