Target beefs up subscriptions
No. 2 U.S. discount department store Target (TGT) vastly expanded the number of goods in its subscription program to try and fend off online retail giant Amazon's (AMZN) "Subscribe and Save" program, which it couples with free 2-day delivery to Prime customers. Target's free subscription program lets people schedule deliveries in intervals of 4, 6, 10 or 12 week. Target shares rose 0.2% to 60. Amazon rose 0.4% to 324.91.
