Taco Bell brings back the bacon ... the Bacon Club Chalupa, other menu items for limited time

The Bacon Club Chalupa, back for a limited time on Taco Bell's menu, is made with grilled chicken, bacon, avocado ranch sauce, lettuce, diced tomatoes and a blend of three cheeses in a warm chalupa shell.

Taco Bell lovers get an expanded menu with the return Thursday of some favorite entrees – including the much-loved Bacon Club Chalupa – for a limited time.

The Bacon Club Chalupa ($4.99), which has its own Facebook page and was last on the menu two years ago according to the Taco Bell Wiki page, is back on the menu for a limited time.

It's made with grilled chicken, bacon, avocado ranch sauce, lettuce, diced tomatoes and a blend of three cheeses in a warm chalupa shell. The Bacon Club Chalupa also comes in a combo with two Crunchy Tacos and a large drink for $8.99. (Local prices may vary.)

Back on Taco Bell's menu: Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito

Also returning to the menu: The Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito ($3.49), loaded with twice the serving of grilled marinated steak as a Steak Quesadilla, along with seasoned rice and sauce in a warm tortilla, topped with a melted mix of cheddar, mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses and then grilled. You can add jalapeños, too; and double protein á la carte for $5.99.

Another returning menu item: The Quesarito ($5.19), available online or on the Taco Bell app until April 19, which a quesadilla rolled and filled with seasoned beef, sauce, reduced fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce and seasoned rice.

By the way, you can still get a Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell, too.

You can wash down that or any of these limited-time menu items with the limited-availability Blue Raspberry Breeze and Wild Cherry Breeze Freezes ($2.99-$3.19), which get an additional flavor burst of pineapple, mango, passionfruit and lime.

Two additional markets are getting a sneak peek at potential future Taco Bell menu items:

• $2 Double Stacked Tacos. Customers in Birmingham, Alabama, can choose from three different tacos with a crunchy shell wrapped within a tortilla and nacho cheese sauce. The Nacho Crunch has seasoned beef, the Cheesy Chipotle swaps in creamy chipotle sauce, and the Sweet Scorpion is garnished with an all-new sweet chili sauce.

• Cheesy Chicken Crispanada ($3.49). In Knoxville, Tennessee, customers will be the first to try the folded fried pastry shell packed with shredded chicken and cheese.
