Berkshire Hathaway trimmed its holdings of Bank of America stock for the first time in at least four years. U.S. Bancorp, Wells Fargo, Bank of New York Mellon, and HP Inc. were once large positions at Berkshire and have been eliminated. The risk of further sales appears to be depressing Bank of America stock, which was off 1.5% on Monday afternoon.

"Biden endorsed Harris, but I think they’ll be a lot of cooks in the kitchen over the next two weeks vying for the position - I believe it’s wide open."

Byju Raveendran, an Indian mathematics whiz who soared from teacher to startup billionaire before his education-technology company imploded this year, now faces his biggest test. The future of Raveendran's eponymous Byju's online coaching firm rests with India's courts after the country's biggest startup, once loved by global investors who valued it at $22 billion, crashed below $2 billion in valuation. The 44-year-old founder last week lost control of the company as a tribunal kick-started an insolvency process.

Broadcom is “catching up” to Nvidia as a semiconductor stock with the most positive investor sentiment, according to Citi analyst Christopher Danely. The analyst wrote in a research note that he met last week with investors to discuss their favorite and least favorite chip stocks. Unsurprisingly, Danely said Nvidia remains the stock with the most upbeat sentiment, but Broadcom is right behind it.

Canadian dollar hits 5-week low ahead of expected rate cut
The Canadian dollar weakened to a five-week low against its U.S. counterpart on Monday as speculators raised their bearish bets on the currency ahead of a potential interest rate cut this week by the Bank of Canada. The loonie was trading 0.2% lower at 1.3760 to the U.S. dollar, or 72.67 U.S. cents, after touching its weakest intraday level since June 14 at 1.3774. "The CAD's focus this week falls squarely on Wednesday's BoC policy decision where a 25 bps (basis points) cut is more or less fully priced in at this point," Shaun Osborne, chief currency strategist at Scotiabank, said in a note.
